- The program is suitable for children aged 7–16.

- Every day, the children will be under the constant supervision of the instructors from Academic Central Sofia Sailing Club and Machirski Sport.
- Lunch – at the discretion of the organizers and according to the program schedule. Lunch may be served at the sailing base, or packed lunches may be taken aboard the boats and enjoyed as an outdoor picnic at another location.
- Upon completion of the beginner training course, Academic Central Sofia Sailing Club carries out a selection process for those who wish to continue practicing the sport of sailing and join the club’s representative team in the various classes and age groups.
DEPARTURE AND RETURN
Departure time and location: 08:30 AM, every day, from the parking area in front of the main entrance of Vasil Levski National Stadium.
Return time and location: 05:30 PM, every day, at the parking area in front of the main entrance of Vasil Levski National Stadium.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Sail With Me BG, in partnership with Academic Central Sofia Sailing Club, carries out one of its main activities – sailing training. Children, teenagers, young adults, students, and anyone wishing to experience the sport of sailing may enroll in the course.
Academic Central Sofia Sailing Club
Academic Central Sofia Sailing Club (CSSC Academic) was founded and registered in Sofia in 1957 and has been registered under the Non-Profit Legal Entities Act since 2000. The club’s main objectives are to provide training and competitive sailing activities for children, adults, and its members, with a primary focus on children and young people, as well as promoting sailing in Sofia.
Every year, CSSC Academic organizes traditional national and international sailing regattas included in the calendars of the Bulgarian Sailing Federation and the International Sailing Federation. Its oldest regatta, “Sofia”, has been held for more than 45 years.
The club also participates in cross-border cooperation through the Euro-Balkan Sailing Association and actively organizes joint events with clubs from Serbia, North Macedonia, Romania, and Greece.
The club operates at the Central Sailing Base (formerly the city sailing base) at Iskar Reservoir – Shtarkelovo Gnezdo.
Food
Children should bring sandwiches or other food, as well as drinking water. Only soft drinks, chips, and wafers are available for purchase at the base.
Clothing
- Comfortable flat-soled shoes, such as sandals, trainers, or sneakers
- A change of clothes in case they get wet (short-sleeved T-shirt, shorts, socks)
- Swimsuit and towel
- Outerwear (jacket, raincoat, fleece) and a sun hat
- Sunscreen
Safety
Personal safety begins with a safety briefing on shore. It continues with putting on life jackets – no one boards a boat without one.
The instructors, experienced sailors, sail together with the children and determine the extent to which control of the boat can be entrusted entirely to the crew.
- Wearing a life jacket is mandatory.
- Children must listen to the instructor and follow all instructions without exception.
- Entering the water without a life jacket and without an instructor present is prohibited.
- Riding in a motorboat is carried out under specific rules that must be strictly followed.
- Operating the boats is permitted only to designated persons and according to established rules that must be strictly observed.
- Children must comply with all rules regarding the equipment, inventory, and time spent on the boats.
- In the event of health conditions such as asthma, allergies, hyperactivity, panic attacks, epilepsy, or other medical conditions, as well as any specific behavioral characteristics of the child, parents must inform the organizers in advance. It must be assessed whether the child can participate in the activity. If both the parents and the organizers agree to the child’s participation, the parent must provide accurate information regarding any ongoing treatment, prescribed medication, and the actions the instructor should take if specific symptoms occur.
