Group Snowboard Courses

Training takes place on the “Ofelii” ski slope, and in good snow conditions and upon the instructor’s recommendation — on  “Lale” slopes.

Children aged 7+ can join the snowboard training together with adults, as the specifics of the learning process allow for an individual approach and focused attention for each participant.

Depending on their skills, all participants are placed into the following groups:

Beginners (Ofelii slope)

Intermediate (Ofelii )

Advanced (Lale slope)

Weekly courses take place on consecutive days — from Monday to Friday. Beginner groups start only on Mondays. Intermediate groups allow joining after Monday.
The duration of weekly packages ranges from a minimum of 3 to 5 days. Check our schedule for weekly courses as we have limited availability. We might organize a weekly course on request if a group of minimum 5 participants is formed.

Weekend courses are held on consecutive weekends.
Beginner groups start only on Saturdays, on the dates listed in the Schedule section.
We do not recommend attending only one of the days (Saturday or Sunday), BUT this option exists solely for intermediate and advanced children and adults.

➤ Groups are formed with a minimum of 5 participants. If fewer people sign up, the group may be bilingual.

➤ For the best results, we recommend 5–6 days of training.

➤ If you prefer lessons entirely in English, we offer individual lessons.

The minimum age to start snowboarding is 7+ years. For children under 7 we would recommend private lessons.

You can find detailed information about the course schedule in the Schedule section.

When enrolling, children with their own ski or snowboard equipment may participate only after the parent guarantees its suitability and reliability by signing the Terms & Conditions and consulting with a Machirski Sport representative regarding size and appropriateness. For beginners, the ski/snowboard length should not exceed the child’s chin height. Personal equipment must be labeled.

Participants must wear appropriate winter clothing at all times.

It is recommended that clothing consists of two separate pieces – jacket and pants, allowing for easy removal (on the bus, at the base, outdoors). Children’s clothing should also include:

  • ¾-length (thermal) socks or tights. Avoid short socks, thick wool socks, or wearing multiple pairs of regular socks.
  • Children’s winter gloves (single-finger gloves allowed), not knitted.
  • Helmet or winter hat covering the ears.
  • Children’s backpack with a label including name, address, and parent’s phone number.
  • Spare socks, gloves, and an extra t-shirt (and spare underwear for younger children).
  • Sunglasses with high UV protection, preferably goggles.
  • Apply sunscreen (SPF 15+) before arriving; do not use regular moisturizer.

⚠️ Dangerous items: scarves, hanging cords, and loose accessories.

If you forget or lose personal equipment, inform us immediately so we can assist in locating it.

Important: For participants under 18, parents or guardians must inform Machirski Sport about any specific medical conditions or behavioral issues relevant to the course.

The ski pass is not included in the course price and must be purchased separately. It is paid in advance for the facilities owned by Machirski Sport, which are used for BEGINNER and INTERMEDIATE levels (pistes “Ofelii” and “Vetrovala”). When choosing a ski or snowboard course, you must purchase a pass for the same duration as the course.

Ski passes for facilities owned by Vitosha Ski AD, which are used for the ADVANCED level, can be purchased on-site or online, according to Vitosha Ski’s prices and conditions. Full information about ski passes is available HERE.

Mountain insurance is included in the package price only if you register in advance via our reservation form.

The insurance policy is issued with Euroins AD and covers up to BGN 1,000 / €511.29 for medical and rescue expenses.

In the event of an insurance claim, the client must contact Machirski Sport immediately.

Machirski Sport may refuse to insure a client and is not responsible for any insurance claims if the client has not provided accurate personal information (full name, Bulgarian Personal ID Number).

When registering for a course, we recommend purchasing a “Trip Cancellation” insurance for an additional fee. This insurance can be arranged at any ZAD Armeec office within 5 calendar days after payment and at least 10 working days before the start of the ski course, upon providing the service contract.

Children (ages 7–18) and Adults (18+)

BEGINNERS

These groups are suitable for snowboarders who are complete beginners or have had 1–2 trial lessons.
Snowboard training takes place in the beginner’s ski area and on the Ofelii slope. On the very first day of the course, you will use the “Magic Carpe”, which greatly facilitates and supports the learning process.

Beginner groups consist of 6–8 children, allowing the instructor to give individual attention to each participant. The groups can be mixed with both children (7-18 years) and adults ( 18+) but the specifics of the teaching process allow an individual approach and focused attention for each participant.

INTERMEDIATE

This level is for snowboarders who have already completed several courses, have basic skills, and wish to develop them further.

Snowboard training takes place only on the Ofelii slope and covers Class A elements: basic turn with rotation, high-release turn, up to and including switch riding.

It’s important to know that at the beginning of the course, everyone is  usually more anxious and may not always demonstrate their true level. If they attend classes only once a year, it is completely normal for the first days to feel like a “refresher period,” which may sometimes look like “being stuck at the same level.”
After the second or third day, the participants usually unfold their full potential and start developing new skills. The instructors closely monitor progress and rearrange groups so that everybody feels comfortable and continues to progress.

ADVANCED

If you have been snowboarding for 2–3 seasons, spending around 15–20 days per season on the slopes, and you are riding confidently on blue, red, and black runs, your level is Advanced.
Training takes place at Aleko Ski Center – Lale slope, Vitosha Mountain.

This level is for those who want to refine their technique, explore different terrains, and gain new skills under the guidance of experienced instructors and coaches.
The maximum number of participants in a group is up to 9 people. When enrolling, please provide us with information about your abilities. If you are unsure of the level, feel free to send us a video.

Yes, of course, but it is important to specify this when booking ski/snowboard lessons. Please note that you must be at the cash desk of the respective ski slope at the latest at 09:20 am for us to take you to your group. If you decide to use personal transportation, the price of the package does not change and no discount is given.

It is important to know that the police closes the road for cars according to the volume of traffic – usually between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm and they do not allow cars, regardless of whether you have a ski school lesson booked. In case of heavy snowfall and severe road conditions, we recommend you to use our organized transport as more reliable. We believe that using organized public transport is more environmentally friendly than using private cars and we hope to convince you of that 🙂

All ski and snowboard packages include: 4 hours of training a day, ski or snowboard equipment, mountain insurance, transfer and hot tea. The ski pass is not included in the package price. See detailed information in the “Prices” section of the respective package.
